What qualifies me to create group coaching programs and be your guide?

The short answer is that I’ve been been in the teaching and transformation game for many years and, as you can see, I have a roster of happy clients.

My heart is singular – for you to stop holding back, stop wasting time, know your value, claim your worth and do your thing in the world.

I am able to hold space for you because I have learnt to hold space for myself.

The longer answer is that I have an unusual mix of skills, interests and life experiences.

I guess you can boil it down into six advantages:

1) I am known for creating safe, powerful growth containers where the whole of you is welcome

It is my role to create and hold the container for your journey of transformation. We give each other permission to be brilliant and imperfect.

You are in good, safe and experienced hands. My coaching and courses have clear boundaries and intentions. My spaces are non-judgmental and dogma-free; challenging but embracing. Confidentiality is key.

It matters hugely to me that Alive Wire is a place where you are free to show up exactly as you are, fully yourself, in your power or in your shadow, feeling good or feeling shit. It is important to me that you have a space to be vulnerable and real and a space where it is OK not to have all the answers and not to know.

I will meet you where you are at. I will have high expectations of you but I will never judge you.

2) I have extensive training and excellent qualifications...

I have a Law Degree, a Certificate of Comparative Religion, a Post Graduate Certificate in secondary school education, a Diploma in Creative Education. I have received training from the International Baccalaureate Organisation in the Theory of Knowledge which I taught at Diploma level.

In 2011, I was awarded my Diploma in Practitioner Coaching from the highly credible Integral+Africa Coaching Centre in Cape Town.

I enjoy giving talks and am a competent Toastmaster.

3) I coach with "backbone and heart"

My clients and students are looking for a “trusted thinking partner” who will act as a neutral mirror and not be afraid to hold that mirror.

I show up with presence. I push the envelope.

I deeply understand the nature of resistance and will lovingly hold you accountable to follow through and stay in the game.

I am quirky but not flaky.

I care.

4) I teach what I have embodied in my own life

What I teach you, I have applied over and over in my life.

I am not perfect but I am the real deal.

I have known hardship and success. I have journeyed many times into the unknown, facing my pain and shame, owning my power and presence. I have not always walked my talk. I have fallen and failed. I have risen and rallied.

I continue to do the inner work.

Not a lot shocks me.

5) I see you!

I see you. I hear you. I get you. I believe in you.

I value you because I have learnt to value myself.

I work with a fundamental premise that we are all powerful creators, inherently valuable, sovereign and whole.

You are not flawed. There is nothing to be fixed.

I will show you your greatness and help you see your shadow. I will make a stand for you.

I want the highest and the best for you. I care about the results you yearn for. Your transformation matters to me.

6) Expertise in resilience and spiritual intelligence

We are living in times of unparalleled change. Things are not about to get easier.

There is something dying and a very new consciousness arising. I am deeply tapped into this.

I believe we need resilience, inner resources and spiritual intelligence more than ever before. This is my area of expertise.

We will all need tools to navigate these times of turbulence. That’s where I come in.

My job is not to enroll you in my beliefs but to guide you on your own growth pathway. I am here to give you tools to develop your spiritual perception so that you can know yourself better, know what’s real, create new realities and make a real difference.

I hold space for you to reflect and re-calibrate. My job is to get out of my own way and to guide you to guide yourself. Your job is to keep showing up fully and “do the work”.

Trust that when the student is ready, the teacher appears.

About Me

My name is Gwendolen. I work as a highly trained and experienced coach, facilitator, speaker, teacher and guide.

I am the creator of Alive Wire, a transformative teaching and learning portal which holds unique programs curated for my students and clients to become more of who they already are.

My heart is for the healing and awakening of humanity.

I mostly work with young South African men and women and South Africans living abroad.

For as long as I can remember, my main interest has been the interface between science and the sacred and the evolution of consciousness.

I have a longstanding love affair with South Africa.

I love elephants, horses and birds, Cape Town and adventures, the arts, writing, mythology, sense-making and story-telling.

I am a single mother of two young men who continue to delight and surprise me. Motherhood is not for everyone. For me, it was my making.

My life has been full, rich and challenging; a crucible for spiritual growth. I have taken the path less travelled and learnt to follow my inner tuition and trust my truth.

I believe personal coaching must be transpersonal – ie about the whole human: body, heart, mind, soul and spirit.  I attract young men and women who are courageous change-makers, entrepreneurs, disruptors, visionaries and professionals shining their light in dark places. They have outgrown the shallow and are ready for a deeper dive.

Alive Wire is an academy and a community; a learning portal and online growth container for mercurial Millennials (the young and the young at heart) who look like they’re rocking on the outside but feel jaded, inadequate and alone on the inside. Each program offered is designed to help these individuals know themselves, trust themselves and express themselves, equipping them with powerful skills to attend to their soul growth and to create success, significance and inner stability in times of change and uncertainty.
